Route Runner ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Route Runner mobile application ("App").

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

- Email Address: Used for account authentication via secure magic link sign-in. We do not store passwords.

- Errand Data: Tasks, shopping lists, merchant names, scheduled dates, and notes you create within the App.

- Saved Places: Locations you save for quick access (e.g., "Home," "Work," favorite stores).

Information Collected Automatically

- Location Data: With your permission, we collect your location to:

- Suggest nearby errand stops while you're driving

- Detect stops to build a history of helpful places

- Optimize errand routes

You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.

- Device Information: A randomly generated device identifier to sync your data across sessions. We do not collect your device's hardware ID.

Information Accessed with Permission

- Contacts (optional): If granted, we access your Contacts solely to autocomplete merchant names with saved addresses. Contact data is processed on-device and not uploaded to our servers.

- Camera (optional): Used only to scan product barcodes to add items to errands. Images are processed on-device and not stored.

- Calendar (optional): If granted, we read your calendar to suggest errands on the way to your appointments. Calendar data is not stored on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

- Provide and improve the App's functionality

- Sync your errands across your devices and family members (if subscribed to Family Sharing)

- Send authentication emails

- Deliver errand suggestions based on your location and schedule

- Analyze app performance and fix issues

Family Sharing

If you subscribe to Family Sharing, your errand and place data is shared with family members you invite. Each family member maintains their own account and subscription.

Data Storage and Security

- Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption

- Backend services are provided by Convex (convex.dev)

- We use Resend for transactional emails

- Analytics are collected via New Relic to monitor app performance

Data Retention

- Your data is retained while your account is active

- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen

- Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days

Children's Privacy

Route Runner is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

You have the right to:

- Access your personal data

- Correct inaccurate data

- Delete your account and data

- Opt out of location tracking

- Revoke permissions for Contacts, Camera, and Calendar

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.
